Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 30, 2026

The short version: Your progress and almost all of your quiz stay on your phone (on iPhone and iPad, with a copy in your own iCloud). NoHit has no account and shows no ads, and the iOS app has no analytics. Our purchase provider, RevenueCat, sees what you buy and whether your weekly vape spend is low, mid or high (on Android, also which campaign link, if any, brought you to Google Play), under a random ID that names nobody.

Where the iOS and Android apps differ, this page says which is which.

Who we are

NoHit (“we”, “us”) is a self-help app for adults who want to stop vaping. This policy explains what the app does with information about you. It covers the NoHit app only.

What stays on your phone

Everything you tell NoHit is saved in the app’s own storage on your device. We run no servers, so none of it is uploaded to us. That includes:

  • Your quiz answers: your device type, how much you vape and what it costs, how soon after waking and how often you reach for it, how strong your cravings and withdrawal feel, how long you have vaped, whether you smoke or used to (and, if you switched from smoking, how sure you are of staying smoke-free), your triggers, your reasons for quitting, your Freedom Fund goal and your if-then plan for your triggers.
  • Your journey: your quit date, your streak, any slips (the vape or a cigarette, when it happened, how sure you felt and what set it off), the cravings you log (what set each one off, what helped and how long the SOS exercise was set to run), any nicotine support you note (NRT or pouches, and when you started and stopped it) and, if you step down first, your step-down plan: the gap between vapes each step asks for, how long a step lasts, the steps you held or went back on, and when you logged each vape in the last four weeks.
  • Your daily check-ins: whether you were still vape-free, how strong your cravings had been and how sure you felt about the day.
  • Your settings: which reminders are on and the ones now scheduled, which milestones have been celebrated, your prep checklist, which of the daily program’s cards you’ve marked done and whether you have graduated from it, when you last closed the Pro screen, how many days of the full app, if any, came free with your first offer, the SOS length you chose last, and when you were asked for a rating.
  • A copy of your subscription status, so Pro opens offline, and the random purchase ID described below.
  • For NoHit’s home screen widget: your streak, run and day, what vaping cost you a day and how clear your sky is, copied where the widget can read them on your phone. A widget you add shows them on your home screen or lock screen.
  • A log of the last 200 errors the app ran into: what failed and where in the code, with none of the above in it.

No account, no ads

You never sign up, and we never ask for your name, email or phone number.

On iPhone and iPad, NoHit contains no analytics, advertising or tracking tools. It does not read your advertising identifier, does not track you across other apps or websites, and does not sell or share your information for advertising.

On Android, NoHit shows no ads and contains no advertising or tracking tools. It does not read your advertising identifier, does not track you across other apps or websites, and does not sell your information or share it with advertisers. The one marketing measurement it makes is the campaign link described under Purchases and RevenueCat, used only to measure our own marketing; it is never used to show you or target ads.

NoHit does not ask for your location, contacts, camera or photo library. Saving a share card to your photos may ask for permission to add that one image.

Backups

NoHit has no server of its own.

On iPhone and iPad, from the moment you take your pledge, NoHit keeps a copy of your quiz, your journey and any step-down plan, the milestones you have celebrated, the program cards you have marked done, your daily check-ins and your random purchase ID in iCloud key-value storage, in your own iCloud account: only NoHit on your devices signed in to it can read it, and we can’t. That copy is what brings your streak back when you delete the app and install it again, or install it on another iPhone or iPad signed in to the same account. Settings › Delete everything erases it. NoHit on another iPhone or iPad signed in to the same account keeps its own progress and puts a copy back the next time it saves, so delete everything there too.

iCloud Backup, or a backup of your iPhone to a computer, includes NoHit’s data with your other apps’, your settings too, and brings it back when you restore your iPhone from a backup. Apple keeps that backup, not us: turn it off or delete it in your iPhone’s iCloud settings.

On Android, your phone’s backup is what carries your streak to a new phone, or back after you reinstall. When backup is on for your Google Account, Android backs up NoHit’s saved data (your quiz, your journey and any step-down plan, your check-ins, your settings and your random purchase ID, but not the error log) and restores it when the app is installed again. Google keeps that backup, not us: turn it off in your phone’s backup settings.

Purchases and RevenueCat

NoHit Pro is sold through the App Store and Google Play. Apple or Google Play takes the payment: we never see your card, your billing details or your store account.

To check and restore what you have bought, the app uses RevenueCat, Inc., a subscription service that processes this data on our behalf. The first time the app opens, it makes up a random ID (“nohit_” followed by 32 random letters and digits) and uses it with RevenueCat instead of any name or email. Under that ID, RevenueCat receives:

  • Your purchase history from the App Store or Google Play: which plan you have, when it started and when it renews or ends, and any trial, cancellation or refund.
  • Technical details that any purchase check involves, such as your IP address, country and currency, device language, and app and system version.
  • One fact from your quiz is shared: whether your weekly vape spend is low, mid or high, so we can show you the right plan. Your dependence score, reasons, triggers, device and exact spend never reach us or RevenueCat.
  • Android only: If a campaign link brought you to Google Play, such as a creator’s or a share card’s, which one it was is shared once, so we can measure which creator posts and links bring subscribers. Nothing else in the link is sent, and it is never used to show you or target ads.

Why RevenueCat gets your spend band

We use the band only to choose which plans and prices to show you. It is not used for analytics or advertising, and your streak, slips, cravings and check-ins are never sent.

RevenueCat handles this data under its own privacy policy, and keeps purchase records for as long as billing, tax and fraud prevention require. Read RevenueCat’s privacy policy.

Reminders

If you turn on the morning check-in, craving-window nudges or milestone alerts, NoHit schedules them with your phone’s own notification system, timed on the device (the nudges from your quiz triggers, and once you have logged five cravings, from the hours you logged them in); no server sends them. Turn them off in Settings (without Pro, craving nudges on your report), or in your phone’s notification settings, at any time.

During a free trial it also reminds you, once you allow notifications, 2 days before the trial ends and on the morning before it does, timed from the end date your store reports. Turn these off in Settings too.

Sharing

NoHit shares nothing on its own. When you tap Share, the app puts your progress or your report into a card or a short text on your phone and hands it to your phone’s share sheet. Where it goes next is up to you and the app you pick.

Settings › Report a problem works the same way: it hands the share sheet a text file with the app’s version, your phone’s system version and the error log above, for you to send to us or anyone you choose.

Sources, quit lines and store pages open in your browser, phone or store app, under those services’ own privacy policies.

Adults only

NoHit is for adults 18 and over and is not directed at children. Anyone who tells the quiz they are under 18 is pointed to free help to quit where they live instead.

Deleting your data

On iPhone and iPad, deleting the app deletes what NoHit keeps on your phone, but not its copy in your iCloud (see Backups), which comes back if you install the app again. Settings › Delete everything deletes both and keeps the app. Without Pro, Delete everything is on the report you see when you close the Pro screen. NoHit on another iPhone or iPad signed in to the same account keeps its own progress and puts a copy back the next time it saves, so delete everything there too.

On Android, to delete everything NoHit keeps on your phone, uninstall the app, or clear its storage in Settings › Apps › NoHit › Storage. Settings › Delete everything in the app does the same. Without Pro, Delete everything is on the report you see when you close the Pro screen.

Delete everything also switches the app to a fresh random purchase ID and asks RevenueCat to drop your spend band (on Android, also the campaign your install came through; the app shares that campaign once more, under the new ID, as it would for a new install). A backup made before stays with your backup provider until it is replaced or deleted.

Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription: cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings. To have RevenueCat delete the purchase records under your random ID, email us with the order ID from your App Store or Google Play receipt and we will find and remove them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information about you, or to object to how it is used. Most of what NoHit holds never reaches us, so it’s already in your hands. For anything held by RevenueCat, email us.

Settings › Export my data hands the share sheet a file of your quiz answers, your journey, the milestones you have celebrated, your daily check-ins, the program’s cards you have marked done and any step-down plan, for you to keep or send where you choose. Without Pro, Export my data is on the report you see when you close the Pro screen. It is free either way.
